Fire Rated (FR) Gypsum Board is a factory-produced, 1200×2400 mm wide custom panel for applications requiring fire resistance. The boards are made of non-combustible glass-fiber reinforced gypsum blended with specific additives, covered in a thick, natural-finish paper on the front side, and a sturdy liner paper on the reverse. To strengthen and safeguard the core, the face paper is folded around the long edges. The ends are square-cut and smooth-finished. Long edges of panels are recessed (tapered), allowing joints to be strengthened and covered with jointing compounds

Covered with pink cardboard on face side & pink or grey cardboard on the back side. With red edge tape, UMI Fire Resistance gypsum wallboard is used as a covering material for interior walls and ceilings in residential and commercial applications that often require specific fire rated assemblies.
